Comes from a Ramgariha Sikh Punjabi background. His father is Amarjeet Rampal, a Sikh and his mother is Gwen Rampal, a Dutch woman. Arjun and his younger sister attended the prestigious Kodaikanal International School located in the Palani Hills, Tamil Nadu, where his mother was a teacher. Appeared with his cousin, Kim Sharma, in Yakeen (2005). Arjun was also featured in the Temptation Tour alongside Shahrukh Khan.
